As a project manager within the program management team for a healthcare client, Tina took on the challenge of assisting stakeholders in determining how to present progress, budget, and safety metrics to the project’s Board each month. With Microsoft Power BI dashboard analytics, the streamlined process to present metrics for the nearly one-billion-dollar, multi-facility, multi-phase contract was successful in conveying a “story” that highlighted each project’s milestones and progress.
In 2019, this accomplishment was highlighted in an Engineering News & Review article to showcase how using data visualization to create client reporting was successful for the company and the client.
The visual depicted above is an example of a dashboard created by Tina and utilized by the healthcare client that provided a brief overview of the project, a high-level expenditure metric, milestones, RFI and submittal information, and monthly and upcoming activity summaries.
These metrics resulted in automated reporting, actionable insights, encouraged accountability and established a feedback loop where insights gained drove iterative improvements to each project.
